Duffer to the rescue....Blackburn safer

Damien Duff has been in the news over the last couple of days, and it has all been quite positive. The Dublin Lad showed us his exceptional display against the Danes, with Irelands 3-0 trashing. And last night's 2-0 win for Blackburn over Southampton, where Duff got the opener with his usual wizardry and skill. Blackburn can now breath again as they move further and further away from that dreaded relegation area.

However all of this has been shadowed by Souness's whinge at Mick about Duffer the Dubliners exertions agains the Danes.

Souness is now saying that Duff was omitted from the Blackburn squad who were beaten by Leicester on Saturday, due to a cold.

“Damien’s not great, he’s had a bit of a flu problem from when he came back from Ireland, he’s not trained, we were on a wing and a prayer with him tonight. He’s done very well to get through it tonight. I’m generally delighted.”
