Kilbane on the way out of Wearside?

Its been on the cards ever since Kevin Kilbane came back from the World Cup, but his departure from the Stadium of Light is almost surely about to happen.

Kilbane, who has never failed to perform in a green shirt for the Republic of Ireland, has not brought his international performances to the red and white stripe of Sunderland. He has been subjected to a certain section of the crowd, or the "BOO Boys", who have not made the left wingers time on Wearside easy.

Aston Villa are the most likely to sign the Preston born Irish international, who may now be surplus to requirements, as Thomas Butler will almost certainly be number one on the Black Cats left flank of midfield. Peter Reid made it public during this month that Kilbane was of interest to Aston Villa.

Graham Barrett

Arsenal & Republic of Ireland U21 striker, Graham Barrett , travelled with the "Gunners" for their mini-tournament in Kapfenberg, Austria. Arsenal took the lead on 28 minutes, as Barrett provided the cross from the left wing. His cross then made contact with the head of French International, Sylvian Wiltord , who from about 10 yards out stuck it in the top corner.

Graham did not make an impact in the Arsenal first team last season, due to the Irish Under-21 International being struck down with glandular fever. On his comeback the former Kilnamanagh player spent a brief loan spell at Bristol Rovers. It is too early to say whether Graham fits into Wengers plans, what with the quality of the current top class strikers at Highbury. Graham Barrett was born on October 6th 1981 in Dublin, and he joined Arsenal in 97' turning professional in 98'.
