Man U beat Pompey but Roy Keane injured

Roy Keane limped out of Manchester United's FA Cup win {4-1} over Portsmouth at Old Trafford today. The 31-year-old Cork man was replaced at half-time after suffering a hamstring strain in the first half of the 4-1 triumph.

Fergie had the following to say ahead of tomorrows assessment of Keanes injury: "We missed Roy's drive in the second half. He came off with a hamstring strain but we will have to assess it in the morning before we know what the damage is.”

The impact of his absence in the second half od todays game was clear to see, as United lost their air of superiority without him. Forced to operate without Keano, the Reds became sloppy and were nearly made to pay by Pompey with the score at 2-1.

Fergie added: "We got lazy and casual in our passing and in the second half Portsmouth made it really hard for us."

United will now face Blackburn this coming Tuesday in the Worthington Cup semi-final first-leg
