Morrison: Just a dead leg
In Birmingham Citys 0-2 win at Stoke City yesterday, it was a game that saw Clinton Morrison introduced after 60 minutes of play. Then the Republic of Ireland Striker was stretchered off six minutes later with what looked like a serious injury. Blues Boss Steve Bruce has confirmed that it was not his hamstring which was injured, but merely a dead leg. Clinton will be back in training Monday or Tuesday next week. Good news for Mick McCarthy then.
Jeff Kenna was instrumental in the Blues goals with impressive displays on the left hand side of the park, and Kenny Cunningham too had a shot blocked by the Stoke Keeper.
Carr still making progress
With Tottenham’s pre-season matches coming to an end, Republic of Ireland right back Steve Carr , was on display in Rotterdam as the London side drew 2-2 with Feyenoord.
Spurs beat Watford yesterday by 0-1, and Hoddle also sent a Spurs IX to Cambridge. And immediately speculation began as to the whereabouts of Carr . But the Dubliner played all 90 minutes in the todays draw with the 2002 UEFA Cup winners, reassuring not only Spurs fans, but Mick McCarthy that the position of right back for the Republic of Ireland, may still be up for grabbs. Gary Kelly would most likely fit in at the back right in Carrs absence, what with Steve Finnans current injury.
