Liam George secures 3 month contract

Liam George has today signed a short term 3-month contract with English Div III club Bury F.C. The Former Republic of Ireland U18 striker jumped at the chance to sign for the Shakers when he met with the club, and Bury Boss, Sam Ellis on Friday last. He also played a part in Bury’s pre-season friendly today, coming on as a substitute in the second half at Gigg Lane.

Liam has had his fair amount of injuries, and cementing his place, as first team choice has been difficult. After unsuccessful trials with Clydebank, Cambridge, Colchester, Gillingham, and more recently Sheffield United, the Luton-born Irishman has at last secured a contract, regardless of whether it is short tem or not. Blades Boss Neil Warnock released him at the end of last week, due to the Sheffield side spoiled with five first team strikers to select from.

Liam will now be looking to put the past few seasons behind him, and get on with playing football for Bury, where it is hoped that he will rise again. Just like the European Republic of Ireland U18 Championship winner that he is. A just reward, that brought the talent that is Liam George him to the public eye.
