Richard Dunne fitness update / Quinn's publishers apoligise to fans

Richard Dunne completed his first 45 minutes of reserve team football last night, since his disciplinary hearing at Manchester City in mid September.

Dubliner Dunne was placed on a special training programme by the club under the guidance of the PFA in mid September, following an un-disclosed breach of the club’s discipline. Speculation was that of his career at Maine Road was on the line, but he was subsequently ‘fined’ and not ‘fired’.

Playing at left back, Dunne looked stronger and more alert than ever before. Game finished 2-1 to City.

Niall Quinn has apologised to fans that pre-ordered a signed copy of his book, by a letter from his publishers advising of a delivery and signing delay.

In the “NIGHT WITH NIALL” match day commemorative programme, the publishers gave the fans the chance to pre-order a signed copy of Niall's book, signed by the man himself. However in a letter dated 08 October, the publishing company have advised of the following

“I am writing with regard to your advance order for signed copy of Niall's autobiography. I’ve no doubt that you will be aware of the recent developments at Sunderland Football Club. The events that unfolded yesterday meant that Niall had to rush back from London – where he was due to sign copies of his book – to Sunderland, at very short notice.

Consequently, we are currently unable to dispatch copies to you. We have taken steps, with Niall to ensure that signed copies will be available by the end of the week, meaning you will receive your copy in the post early next week.

We recognise that this falls well outside the terms of the promotion to which you responded. In view of this, if you would no longer like to take up the offer, we will happily return your payment to you.

You might like to know that Niall will be signing copies of his book at the following venues over the coming weeks if you would prefer to have your copy signed by Niall in person”
