Roy Keane ends International career

Roy Keane has confirmed that he will not return to international football with the Republic of Ireland for medical reasons despite meeting with Brian Kerr.

The statement, which came from Michael Kennedy's office in London via RTE reporter Tommie Gorman claimed that Keane was "compelled" to say not to a return " for medical reasons".

The former Irish captain also claimed in the statement that after his meeting with Kerr he believes that "Irish football is in very capable hands."
