Kenna in the Premier League, as Blues go up

So Mattie Holland goes to Div I with the Tractors Boys, and Jeff Kenna comes back up to the Premiership, with the Blues

Darren Carter, just 18 years of age, scored the decisive penalty which gave Steve Bruce's side a 4-2 win over Norwich in the Division One play-off final at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. Norwich took the lead in the first half of Extra time, but the Blues replied to leave it all even at 1-1, and the inevitablity of penalties.

Birmingham City capain, and Republic of Ireland International, Jeff Kenna (pictured above) had this to say:

"We've been very difficult to beat since Christmas, kept our heads up and showed a lot of character. We kept on and got the result in the end".

There is no doubt that the better team won, and the third place has now been filled in the Premiership next season, with Manchester City and West Brom taking the respective first and second places.

Transfer Speculation

Damien Duff has once again insisted he will be a Blackburn Rovers player next season and says Ewood Park is where he belongs. The Republic of Ireland winger had been linked with summer moves to Premiership giants Liverpool and Manchester United but Duff insists the stories are nothing more than pure speculation. Duff received Blackburn's Player of the Year and the Goal of the Season prior to yesterday's 3-0 victory over Fulham. The 23-year-old has three years remaining on his Ewood Park contract and the board are expected to offer the wing wizard a lucrative new deal during the close season. Theyre gonna have to or he'll be poached by another "cannot say no" deal, from another top-flight club.

And Finally

Still no word as to why Mark Kinsella was excluded from Charltons' squad who drew 0-0 at Old Trafford yesterday. Kinsella has come back from two groin and knee injuries, and he is included in the midfield slots for Korea.
