Good performance from O’Shea

Despite loosing 0-1 in last nights Champions League qualifying clash to Hungarian minnows ”Zalaegerszeg”, John O’Shea played the full 90 minutes for the injured Rio Ferdinand and showed remarkable poise and composure. The Hungarian goal could have been closed down better by O’Shea and Michael Sylvestre, but now Sir Alex Ferguson's men have it all to do in their home leg on Tues 27 Aug.

Roy Keane was as ever comanding & inspirational. In fact he had to work too hard although other factors affected the Manchester side, primarily the poor playing surface. The future sure looks bright for O’Shea.

Even the critical Alan Hansen had good words to say about the Waterford born Republic of Ireland U21 international. O’Sheas colleague at domestic and international level “ Paul Tierney ” remained on the bench last night

Sads to Wearside?

Both West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland are both interested in possibly obtaining the signature of Millwall and Republic of Ireland Striker “ Richard Sadlier ”. “Sads” (as Mick McCarthy christened him at Millwall) has been injured during last seasons Div I campaign; however the Dubliner still managed to score 17 goals.

Peter Reid would seem the favourite to sign Sads, as he looking for a long-term replacement for Niall Quinn , and who better to nurture Sads through the Premiership than Quinny himself. Sads is also believed to be Quinns potential long-term replacement for the Republic of Ireland, and viewers can get an up close and personal look at the Millwall striker when he features in some part of the Republic of Ireland clash away to Finland on Aug 21, next Wednesday.
