Foy released by Forest

Republic of Ireland youth international Keith Foy has been released by Nottingham Forest, the second Irishman to leave the City Ground this season, after failing to break through to the first team.

With fitness issues surrounding ‘Foy’, he was subsequently placed on the transfer list by Forest Boss ‘Paul Hart’ toward the end of last season on the back of criticism. He was then taken off the transfer list, but failed to make an impression therefore his contract has been terminated by mutual consent

In September this year Forest also released former Republic of Ireland U21 striker David Freeman, after being sidelined with a knee injury for more than a year. Freeman now 22 years of age, spent three years at Forest, and although only featuring in nine first team appearances, he featured regularly for their reserve squad.

In light of his release Forest Manager Paul Hart vowed to help the Dubliner find a new club. And that’s just what he did, with the help of Carlisle’s ‘Roddy Collin’s, who signed the Irish striker on a month by month contract basis, in the latter part of September this year.
