Dunne Fined by City

Richard Dunne has been fined two weeks wages and the Dubliner has also been place on a special training programme by Manchester City, after his breach of club discipline

The Republic of Ireland defender was suspended after what was described last week as a serious breach of the clubs discipline. However after a meeting attended by Maine Road directors and PFA chief Gordon Taylor, as well as Kevin Keegan and Richard Dunne, the club have decided instead to place Dunne on a special training programme and fine him two weeks' wages.

The following was the statement from Manchester City:

"Richard Dunne has accepted the seriousness of his situation having had similar disciplinary problems in the past"

"The PFA will now work together with Manchester City Football Club to assist Richard Dunne during this training period and to help him work towards achieving the goals he has set himself".
