In the Premiership

Mark Kinsella returned to the Valley today since for the first time since his move from the London side after the 2002 World Cup as a starter for Aston Villa in their 3-0 defeat against Charlton.

In the early afternoon kick off, John O’Shea and Roy Keane’s ‘Man Utd’ travelled to the Reebok to face Bolton Wanderers, and just when it looked like the visitors would slip six points behind the leaders Arsenal, up popped Solskjaer with a 90th minute equaliser which cancelled out N’Gotty’s 61st minute strike for Bolton {1-1}.

Lee Carsley was excluded from Everton’s team sheet at Goodison Park with Rory Delap's Southampton. Southampton took the lead in the first half and Everton’s ‘Radzinski’ responded with two goals in the second half to secure the points for the Blue half of Mersey side. Delap, due to injury, did not feature for the Saints.

Things are going great, and it looks like things can only get better for Shay Given and Andy O’Brien as Newcastle improved on their away record with a 0-3 win over Gary Kelly’s Leeds United. Ian Harte was on the team sheet, but remained on the bench. Newcastle’s Kieron Dyer bagged a brace, while Sharer scored the third.

While Richard Dunne made the Starting line-up for City today in place of the injured Distin, the Blue half of Manchester conceded ‘4’ goals in the first 19 minutes against the visiting Champions ‘Arsenal’ at Maine Road. Dunne came off early into the second half while the game finished in Arsenal favour {1-5}, who now lead the Premiership point’s table by 5.

And finally, Sunderland moved a step closer to Division I today with a 1-3 defeat at the hands of local Rivals Middlesbrough in the Wear-Tee’s Derby at the Stadium of Light. Kilbane and McAteer featured while Phil Babb had to make do with a place on the bench.

In Division I

Mark Kennedy and Denis Irwin were on the field for Wolves at Preston’s Deepdale Park while Paul Butler did not feature for the visitors in their 0-2 victory over Preston due to a rib injury.

In Division III

Roddy Collins new loan signing from Hull ‘Stuart Green’ scored a 62nd minute goal to secure the points for our Irish contingent on their away trip to Rochdale. Irish men Peter Murphy and Richie Foran started for Carlisle, while Willie McDonagh and Brendan McGill remained on the bench.

Former Boh’s front man Gareth O’Connor {pictured} scored the second goal {80min} for Bournemouth in their 2-0 victory over Exeter at the ‘Fitness First Stadium’. Former Irish youth International Liam George came on for his first senior appearance {sub 34mins} for Boston United after agreeing non-contract terms last week. Boston took the points 3-0 over JJ Melligan’s Kidderminster.

Finally
