Although this site is themed solely on our Boys in green, it is also imperative that we also recognise our representavies in Europe next season in the European competitions. Shels, Dundalk and the Hoops (Shamrock Rovers, Richie Byrne Republic of Ireland U21) all hail from the Irish Eircom Premier League.
Irish Teams representing our country in the Champions League/UEFA cup are as follows
Shelbourne F.C. have been drawn against the Maltese Champions Hibernians in the first round of the Champions League. The first qualifying round will be played between 17 & 24 July 2002. If Shels get through, they'll then have to face Portuguese team Boavista. And the Second qualifying round will be played between 31 July & 7 August 2002. And in the UEFA cup Shamrock Rovers play Swedish side Djurgårdens, and Dundalk F.C. will face Croatian side NK Varteks. The first leg games qualifying round will be played on 15 August 2002. And the second leg games qualifying round will be played on 29 August 2002
