U19s overwhelmed by the Germans

Our Junior Boys in green had a tough lesson from the Germans tonight with a 3-0 defeat in the European Under 19 Championships in Norway. Unlike the previous 2-1 win over Belgium on Monday by the young Irishmen, this time their was one side who dominated and it was not te Republic of Ireland.

The 3-0 defeat now puts us in a situation wherby if Brian Kerrs men are to qualify for the final of the tournament, they must now beat England on Friday, but also hope that Germany do not beat Belgium. But as Belgium and England drew 1-1 also on Wednesday, it means that Ireland still remain on course for a place in next season's World Youth Cup in the United Arab Emirates. A top three placing in the group will assure Ireland of that as it stands we are in second place.
