O'Brien adds to injury list

Mick McCarthy has been hit with another withdrawal from the Republic of Ireland squad to face Denmark on Wednesday at Lansdowne Road in the pre World Cup friendly.

This time it's Newcastle United's 22 year old central defender Andy O'Brien who damaged his ankle following an accidental collision with his Irish team mate and club goalkeeper Shay Given.O'Brien completed the game in the FA Cup defeat to Arsenal but did not travel after Bobby Robson withdrew him from the squad.

McCarthy has now lost O'Brien, Carsley, Kilbane, Roy Keane and Mark Kennedy from his original squad for the game, while Gary Breen is doubtful with a hamstring injury and did not play with Coventry at the weekend. Sadlier who may have also gotten a call up is definetly out with a hip injury.
