Clinton deal not done yet

Clinton Morrison has yet to put pen to paper in a transfer from Div I Crystal Palace to newly promoted Premiership outfit, Birmingham City. Steve Bruce had thought all had gone according to plan, except that there is another striker as part of the deal.

Birmingham City striker Andy Johnson is due to trade places with Morrison, and he has yet to agree personal terms with Palace, as negotiations are ongoing. Morrisons deal is thought to be worth in or around the GBP£4.25mil range, with Johnson part of the deal, but Johnson will be on a free to Palace.

Duffer not surprisingly, still hot property

Liverpool are still on the trail of Ballyboden born Damien Duff, who has yet to agree new terms with Blackburn Rovers. The Republic of Ireland wingers price has shot up dramatically what his displays for the Boys in Green in Japan Korea at this years 2002 World Cup Finals. Although Blackburn do not wish to sell the Dubliner Duff, an offer of GBP£20mill would with no doubt be of great benefit to the Lancashire club. All that remains to be seen is, does Souness rate Duff that much?

Finnan training ground injury

A clash of heads on the training ground has left the Republic of Ireland right-back with concussion, as Fulham prepare for there Intertoto away leg clash with Greek side Egaleo. Steve Finnan is experiencing headaches and nausea, and on medical it is recommended that the Republic of Ireland defender remains at home in England. Fulham are taking with them a 1-0 home leg win to Greece ahead of Saturdays clash.
