Irish Team Spirit is right down through ranks

If the Republic of Ireland Senior Squad have a sense of team spirit that is envied throughout the Football World, what about the performance of our U19 boys last night in Norway. 3-2 to the Republic of Ireland v England U19, in a game which saw our boys come back from a 0-2 deficit, to score their three goals in the second half. Kerrs words of wisdom paid off in the dressing room, and in the oppositions dressing room, surely the mood was that of the game was in their control and almost won.

The result means that the Republic of Ireland U19 Team must now play a third-place play-off against Slovakia in the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo. The Irish goals came from Jonathan Daly (Stockport), Stephen Paisley (Man. City) and Stephen Kelly (Spurs). Dalys was a spot kick and both Pailsey and Kellys' goals were from crosses provided by Liam Kearney of Notts. Forest.

Irish Legend David Kelly signs for Derry City

With speculation surrounding whether or not David Kelly would sign for Telford United (Eng. Conference Lgue.), the Ex-Republic of Ireland International has signed for Eircom Premier Division side, Derry City. After rejecting an approach from Hereford after his release from Mansfield Town, Kelly has decided to come home.

The Birmingham-born Irish striker was capped on 26 occasions, and scored 9 goals in his ten year International career for the Boys in Green, from 1987 - 97'.
