Keane: FA Close to decision

Roy Keane has less than a week to wait to find out what the FA decision will be regarding his claims in the new book “Keane”

FA Chief Exec. Adam Crozier has advised that a letter was sent to Roy in connection with the allegations surrounding the foul on Manchester Citys Alf Inge Haaland in April 2001, and that at the beginning of next week, the allowed fourteen days for a player to respond will have expired. In light of the incident between Keane and Haaland the FA stated that rather than make judgements, they would have to wait to see a copy of the book. Crozier spoke to the FA's website:

"We've spoken to both Manchester City and Manchester United over the past few days and some time ago we wrote to Roy, asking him for his observations as well. He was given the normal, fair 14 days to reply to that - which is due up at the beginning of next week. As soon as we've got that, having now read the book and looked at everything, we'll make a decision."

Regarding whether Haalands probable intentions to take legal action toward Keane was the way to conduct matters:

"Football needs to deal with things properly and professionally, and certainly that's what we aim to do." But he added: "People always have the right to do what they see fit for their own lives and you can't force that in any way."
