Richard Sadlier Fact File

RICHARD SADLIER, Current Domestic Team, Millwall Football Club

Richard Sadlier is another success story behind the youth system at Millwall. The former Irish Under 21 international striker was hit by an ankle injury which terminated his domestic season in April 2001

‘Sads’ is a giant who can hold the ball up well, and he is great in the air. Sound like another former giant Irish Striker?

He has had his fair share of injury problems during his short career to date and he represented his country in the Junior World Cup in Nigeria in April 1999. He received his first cap at senior level for the Republic of Ireland during February 2002. Sads was highly favoured to make the final 23 man squad for the 2002 World Cup Finals, but had to take himself out of the picture with a hip injury which required surgery. This kid continues to impress Mick Mc!. Obviously the long tern sucessor for Niall Quinn
