Former England Under 16 international, Reid is everything any Irish football fan can want in their senior International squad. Reidy was a product of the youth system at and made his "senior" Lions debut at 17.

He has now opted to play for the Republic of Ireland for which he is eligible by irish grandmother. And he has already represented them at Under 21 level. He is a utility player comfortable on the left or right of midfield. He can also slot in at full back where necessary.

Steven was part of the 23 man World Cup squad in the World Cup 2002, when he slotted in for the injured Mark Kennedy

Steven Reid was called up for the 23 man Irish Squad to travel to Japan/Korea for the World Cup, 2002. Mark Kennedy pulled out due to injury, and Reid was his automatic replacement.
