**=sound fx Date:Autumn 1777 Location: Old Fort Mifflin- Philadelphia A large flotilla of British warships and troops head up the Delaware on their march to Philadelphia, General Washington and his beleagured army is in need of time so that they can winter in Valley Forge, regroup and resupply themselves and continue the war for Independance , it is up to the patriots who manned the forts on the Delaware river, those on the Jersey side at Redbank and those on Mudd island at Fort Mifflin. There could be no more appropiate name for the island that Fort Mifflin is situated on, a damp, wet, barren, wind swept piece of water logged land , miles from the heart of colonial Philadelphia, isolated, cut-off and lonely, and yet a battalian of patriot soldiers through their supreme sacrifice gave General Washington what he needed most, time. The energized emotions that flll this camp, where 70% of the soldiers died have resulted into the numerous reports of hauntings today.The ribald history did not just end with the revolutionary war but continued on through the varied wars that this nation has fought, Fort Mifflin has been used as a fort, a prison and a execution ground.
Many visitors and people who have worked there have reported strange phenomona at this monumental site.
