Rumors Quashed

Never trust the word of mouth... word of beak is much better

Rumor #1: Its been circulating for some time, that Hogwarts student Hermoine Granger is truly, madly, deeply in love with my venerable owner, Harry Potter. Sorry romantics, this rumor is: FALSE. After listening in on many contradicting conversations, I decided to ask Miss Granger herself about her true feelings for Harry. She issued this statement: "No, I don't like Harry. Well, I mean, I like him, but just as a friend. Now go away, Hedwig, I'm trying to finish this essay for transfiguration. I never knew that plant switching could be so fascinating!..."

Rumor #2: The giant squid is being put onto the endangered species list. This, once again, is FALSE. A board meeting was held last week in which the giant squid is being added to the "Really really really endangered species list," since there is only one known squid left in the world. This unique mollusk is found only in the lake within the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry grounds. It's reported to be living happily and is well fed

Rumor #3: In the spirit of collaboration, Gringotts bank of England is going to be offering the Euro-Knut, Euro-Sickle, and Euro-Galleon which can be used anywhere in Europe, instead of having to change money at the border. According to Gringotts goblin Urg the Ugly, this is TRUE. Look for them by 2003.

Rumor #4: The dubious Giants of Northern and Southern England have a new breed of transportation: Giant spiders. Numerous reports of Giants riding the monstrous spiders, complete with saddles,  up and down the coast, terrorizing small Wizarding outsposts. This rumor is PROBABLY FALSE. Several unoffical tests were done experimanting on how much weight one of these spiders can hold, and the result is usual spider paste. However, Giants have many unknown powers, one of which could be causing these odd sightings.
