Look who's talking?
House Speaker Manny Villar’s accusation to Sanlakas Rep. Renato Magtubo on being a ‘leftist’ and being is a sheer display of a traditional politicians’ rhetoric. Rep. Magtubo has all the pride to say that he did his best in filing all kinds of bills pertaining to the protection of labor against the onslaught of globalization. It is Villar’s leadership that has all the fault. His Congressional Labor Committee, in the persona of Rep. Ledesma, has wasted time on sitting on the bills Magtubo and other congressmen have filed for the sake of labor.
Now, Magtubo’s challenge is just prim and proper as Villar has no proof to his earlier claims. The Speaker’s ‘ST ads’ shall mean now ‘Sinungaling Talaga!.’ Look who’s talking? He don’t have the right to air such allegations, especially on the sole trade union leader (Magtubo is president of the Fortune Tobacco Labor Union)in Congress, as he is a known capitalist and just last year, his Manuela Supermarket was accused of mocking labor laws.
We, as children of workers, challenge anew Mr. Villar. Show us workers that will rally behind you, that will say that they benefited from your administration and we will show you all the workers, and children of workers, that believe in the commitment and effort of Rep. Magtubo in serving labor."
We say to you Mr. Speaker, we have all the assurance to declare that not a single worker will rally behind you. As for Magtubo, even workers from your district in Las Piñas will defend him.
