Joma's folly and reformist tendency
Here we go again! The CPP's remote control leadership from Utrecht, now, calls for the encirclement of the Malacañang just to oust Joseph Estrada from office. Joma Sison's moves now direct us into conclusion that he now succumbs to the avenue of wholesale reformism they have chosen to pave.
While Kampi continues to call for the ouster of Erap from power as he is the worst disaster that came to our country, we remain firm in stating that Estrada's ouster is not enough to solve the poverty the Filipinos are facing nowadays. Joma's statement that attacking Erap with other traditional politicians like Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will just mislead the focus on the inutile president is a ridiculous statement from someone that claims to be leader of the masses and worse, from someone who demand to be called a revolutionary.
We thought Joma is a genius but his recent call for the palace barricade only confirms that he does not learn from the error of 1986. Then, he let the victory of the Filipino masses be stolen by the elitist Cory Aquino and now is a worse scenario, he is pushing for the expulsion of the president just to place another elitist, in the person of GMA, on the seat of power.
Joma's one million target that shall encircle the presidential palace must not be mislead that they can have better lives only if Erap is ousted. If only Joma has the ambition of mobilizing a million people then he must make its aim not just a person's removal from power but the overhaul of Filipino politics and governance.
In this speck, we heed the attention of all the oppressed sectors of the Filipino society to ponder in great detail the current political crisis and the given choices of solutions. We must draw the line between the call to oust Erap and the call for political reforms. ###
