The bathtub was mostly full, with plain water. I was in it taking a bath. With me was a pet which was some kind of animal that was part vegetable. Its pink-ish face resembled a teletubbies. Its body was the color and shape of a cucumber. I was giving the creature a bath. For a moment I wanted to take a bite out of the pet as it swam by me. I didnt, but I pictured the hurt look on the creatures face and a bite out of its side, looking like a bitten cucumber; in the same moment within the dream I wondered whether people who raise chickens as pets have similar guilty thoughts about what they taste like. I didnt bite the animal, but I had to feed it. It opened its mouth: inside it looked like the mouths of the sand worms from Dune, except instead of needles, the mouth was lined with white cucumber seed teeth. Some of the seed-teeth were loose and floating around its mouth. I didnt know what kind of pet food was appropriate. I looked under my leg and found a yellow squash/zucchini. I broke it up and threw it in the water. The animal ate some floating pieces. Looked hungry. I wondered if maybe it was a carnivore and liked the taste of the squash because it mightve had some of my sweat on it. Leaving the creature swimming around, I got out of the tub and left the bathroom. I walked down to a patio area and found Jessica and Travis sitting together. I asked them for advice on what to feed the animal. Travis said try barley and some pieces of frozen chicken in the freezer. When he said barley though, I thought he meant parsley flakes or oregano and so got some of that. Went back to the bathroom, a little concerned that maybe Id left the pet too long by itself and it might have drowned in the tub unattended. I found it outside the tub on the ground under a towel (a towel I think was dirty with broken plaster from the wall tiles). Looked much smaller now that it was out of the water. I put the pet back in the bathtub, sprinkled parsley flakes and other flaky herbs on the surface of the water, with pieces of thawed chicken. The animal ate it like a fish, resembling a koi with an open, round mouth.
