After glamming it up at the Spiceworld: The Movie premieres in London and Paris, the gals packed their bags and hopped on the next plane Down Under for a wild weekend!
6:10am
Four very spunky lasses enter the country under the names Geri Halliwell, Melanie Chisholm, Victoria Adams and Emma Bunton - that's Ginger, Sporty, Posh and Baby to you! They seem at a bit of a loss, "Where's Scary?!", they cry.
8:10
Ms Melanie Brown - complete with a bag full of "Scary" swimmers she picked up on her holiday with boyfriend Fjolnir Thorgeirsson in Tahiti - hits the tarmac and rushes off to meet her pals at the Sheraton On The Park hotel.
Noon - 2pm
At last the five Spices are ready to check out the Aussie sights. First up they head for The Rocks and board the "Sydney Crystal" - a way-posh boat all decked out for their cruise around Sydney Harbour. Baby got into the Aussie spirit with a brand new Akubra hat!
2:30
After many a gasp at the harbour, the fab five head off to record a heap of radio interviews - including one with Ugly Phil at 2Day FM
6:15
After a quick rest in their hotel rooms, the Spicey ones meet up in a room on level one of their hotel to make sure things are in order - including mic hook-up and sound check - for the big premiere that night.
6:30
All aboard! Now it's time to zoom around town in the double-decker Spice Bus. The girls cause a sensation in the streets of Sydney - waving and yelling out to passers-by from the bus's roof. Two of the major streets outside the State Theatre have been closed off to make way for their arrival - and to make room for the 10,000 screaming fans! A camera operator on board the bus films the girl's every move - which goes out to giant screens in Pitt Street Mall and inside the State Theatre. When the bus finally arrives at the theatre, the Spice Girls spend 10 minutes walking down the red carpet chatting to the crowd.
6:55
The gals continue along the red carpet and enter the theatre. The audience, who have been watching their entire arrival on the big screen, go ballistic.
7:05
It is impossible to hear anything the girls are saying over the hysterical screams so Scary throws a handful of popcorn at Ginger. Ginger gets back at her by throwing popcorn in Scary's hair. FOOD FIGHT! The gals receive huge bunches of flowers and rave about how great "Orrstraylia" is. Yay!
7:10
Celebrities, VIP media (ahem...that would be TV HITS!) and a few lucky ticket holders sat back to watch Spiceworld: The Movie (check out the invitation below!). When the film ended, a few excited TV HITS readers rushed the stage to collect some of the remains from Ginger and Scary's popcorn fight. We saw ya'!
7:15 - 9:15
Before heading off to the mega-exclusive party at Planet Hollywood, the fantastic five ate up at a private room in Bilson's Restaurant. Mmmm!
9:30
The Spiceys arrived at Planet Hollywood ready to party with guests and spent plenty of time posing for raunchy photos. Ooooh!
After a hectic day of publicity work in Sydney, the girls must move on to try to win over Melbourne!
9 am
Rise and shine, Sporty! Another day, another plane trip - after a quick breakfast, it was off to the airport. Yawn!
10:00 - 2:15
The gals hop on the plane for Melbourne and as soon as they arrive they head for the Crown Towers Hotel where they have a bit of a nap, except for Posh, who gets on the phone to her man. Bless!
2:15 - 2:45
The Spice Girls wanna get their hands dirty! Well, off to Planet Hollywood with you for a hand print ceremony. The gals all get into it - except Posh who is a bit hesitant to mess up her manicure! After they've left their mark, the girls smile for the cameras with Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett. Saucy!
2:45 - 4:45
The girls check out Melbourne's famous Yarra River, which runs right through the middle of the city. They hop on a boat and record an interview for current affairs show Today Tonight.
4:45 - 5:45
Emma, Mel B, Mel C, Geri and Victoria arrive at Hoyts Highpoint Cinema in downtown Melbourne. They present a cheque raised from Spiceworld ticket sales to help children with cancer, and then introduce a special Spiceworld screening in not one but four of the theatres!
7 pm
The girls get the night off and, after a yummy dinner, they spend some time getting to know Melbourne.
Sniffle! It's the last day of their trip to Australia, and the girls can't stop saying how much they love it here.
9 am
The fab five have a fulfilling breakfast before they head out for a fun-filled (and rushed!) look around the Melbourne shops and streets. The girls spend thousands of dollars in just an hour and a half - with Scary leading the charge!
1 pm
Oh Spiceys, why must you leave so soon? The gals gather their things - including some cool Aussie purchases - and are driven to the airport. The girls blew us a big kiss goodbye and hopped on a plane headed for Los Angeles.
Don't worry, they promise to come back later in the year to rock us silly with their awesome tour. You go, Girls!
Phew! There's no rest for the Spicey ones. They jump straight off the plane in LA and into the throng of fans waiting at the airport. The gals had been all over the globe pushing their movie, and America was the last stop. Sure, they were in the US late last year to get some new tattoos and make a few TV appearances, but this was the real deal - the American premiere of Spiceworld: The Movie. Cool!
For the crowd of 1,500 fans that gathered for hours outside Mann's famous Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, it was definately worth the wait. Armed with posters, magazines and whatever Spicey treats they could get a hold of, the crowd was deafening as the five superstars pulled up in a white double decker Spice Bus.
Geri, Victoria, Emma, Mel C and Mel B were decked out in white satin suits that would've made daggy '70s pop group ABBA proud! The gals busted onto the street into the arms of the waiting paparazzi. "We had a ball making the film," yelled Geri to the waiting TV crews and fans. "We hope everyone has as much fun watching it."
A few Hollywood celebs popped out to catch the gals in action, like Party of Five's Andrew Keegan, Jonathan Lipnicki, model Rachel Hunter and her kids; and Alex Linz from Home Alone 3.
"It's like a day in our life, only exaggerated," beamed Posh to TV HITS before she was whisked off into the theatre. Yep, these girls sure looked pleased to be in America, and they had reason to be happy ... their debut album "Spice", was the No. 1 selling album in the States for 1997. Awesome!
The gals were all Spiced out after their brief stint as movie stars, but they still found time to perform the hot single "Too Much" for the American Music Awards. They took home a whopping three awards from the AMAs but were far too busy rehearsing for their world tour to pick them up in person. It probably had something to do with the fact that they were rehearsing in Ireland ... d'oh!
Since then, the girls have found time for romance ... Posh Spice showed off her massive engagement ring from fiance, soccer player David Beckham and, after talks that Scary and Fjolnir were engaged, rumour has it that their romance may have cooled off after they were spotted having a big riff in a classy restaurant. Oooer! After snubbing rich kid Randy Spelling in Hollywood, Geri has been spotted around London with a hunky new man, Jamie Morrison.
Success movie careers, massive record sales and blossoming romances - what a fast-paced ol' Spiceworld it is, eh readers?!
