My Opinion
Everybody is allowed freedom to choose how and where they will live. So why are people not given the freedom to choose when they will die?
Euthanasia ~ the act or practice of killing or permitting the death of hopelessly sick or injured individuals (as persons or domestic animals) in a relatively painless way for reasons of mercy
Murder ~ the crime of unlawfully killing a person especially with malice aforethought
Malice ~ 1) desire to cause pain, injury, or distress to another..
2) intent to commit an unlawful act or cause harm without legal justification or excuse
NOTE// Definitions taken from: Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary
Euthanasia should be an option for people, especially if they are suffering from cancer or such illness. Why suffer through years of pain, when in a single moment you can slip peacefully away?! Why put your family and friends through a period of pain as they watch you suffer from cancer, when you could end both all your suffering in a single action?!
Euthanasia should be made legal so that people have the freedom to choose if, and when, they decide to end their life. Buttt...guidelines must be put in place.
An agreement would need to be signed without force or outside influence. A decision would need to be made as to which stage of illness it would occur. And friends and family need to be made well aware of your decision - anything that effects you will also effect them in some way.
We are s'posed to live in a world of freedom - freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of choice - so why take away an individual's choice on whether to die naturally or with a little help?!
