PHOTOGRAPHY!!!
My fave subject at high school was Photography which I did from year 9 to year 11. We took photos and then developed the film and prints ourselves.
Some of my work:
Portraits
We were doing Studio photography with the backdrops and lights and stuff like professionals, which was cool. :) My model was Stace coz she had no school so she went to work with my mum, so I borrowed her to take photos of, hehe. And they turned out pretty good, ay?! :)
Vignetting
Explanation - You hold a piece of card with a whole in the middle over the photo paper and move it up and down as you expose the paper to light. Cool or what?!
Textured Screens
How did I do it? Well, I took photos of "textures" (grass, cement, bricks, you can use anything really) then put that negative together with another negative and voila!! A textured screen photograph. :)
Sepia Toning
For this photo I used a glass negative. (Real old) and made my photo the normal way. Then...I bleached and toned it to get the "sepia" effect. It basically takes away the colour (well, black and white *lol*) and turns it brown, so that it looks kinda like an olden day photo. Nice effect, but time consuming.
Still Life
I didn't know what to use for this, but I was in the canteen before school one morning (like I usually am coz my mum works there) and I was looking around and saw all this stuff, hehe, so I nicked it and used it for my assignment. Original, ay?! Hehe.
Well, I'm not exactly sure how this photo was s'posed to turn out, hehe, but it looks pretty cool. *lol*
Textured Screen
Another example of textured screens.
White Borders
Normal photo, but has a white border. White borders are used to attract attention towards the subject. (I think, maybe it's black borders that do that. I'm confused now. *lol*)
Photogram
This is like the first thing I ever did in Photography, hehe, and it's basically just an exercise to get ya used to the darkroom and stuff. You just place objects on the paper, expose and develop. *lol*
Photogram
The first photogram is like the "negative" and this one is like the "positive" if you get what I mean. Hehe. If ya don't understand, ask me, and I'll explain to you as best as I can, hehe.
