John Brocato is the coordinator of the Technical Communication Program in the College of Engineering at Mississippi State University. Originally from Huntsville, AL, he attended Mississippi State for undergraduate and graduate school. He's been a musician since he was 7 and lived in California for a few years trying to be a rock star (which, ahem, didn't work out). He continues to write and perform music as The Persians and lives in Starkville, MS, with his wife, Kay, and two children, Bailey (7) and Vinny (2).
Tracy Carr reads a lot, always has her lipstick on, and likes staying indoors. A medical editor by day and a librarian by night, Tracy hopes one day to have only one job so her cat will stop getting mad and also stop peeing on her shoes. She currently lives in St. Louis, Missouri, a town that has an unnatural love for vanity plates.
Patti Chandler was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She enjoys fishing, camping, and family outings. She especially enjoys game night with the family. She recently visited Japan and looks forward to many more travels.

Grace Strahan-Piper was born and raised South of the Mason-Dixon Line. She is a teacher in a rural Mississippi school, and even though she has entertained a number of Yankees in her day with her accent, she plans to keep her day job. She enjoys Southern cooking and reading books about the South. On the side, she does what all good Southerners do: she grows tomatoes, visits relatives, and makes an awful lot of sweet tea.
