Guidelines for the delegates of the 7th National Congress

of the National Federation of Student Councils

 

The NFSC’s 7th National Congress will be finally held on the 21st to 25th of November 2000 at the Ridge Convention Center, Tagaytay City. In this light we are expecting calls from attending delegates, speakers or staff in the coming weeks. Each office personnel is advised to entertain NFSC calls and be reminded of the following:

 

Congress requirements:

    1. Each member and interested schools are allowed to send two delegates for the congress. However, if your student council wishes to send more, please notify the National Secretariat as to how many delegates your school will send in order for it to arrange necessary adjustments for accommodation.
    2. Registration fee is P 2,500.00 per delegate exclusive of your transportation expenses. For additional delegates, we will be charging P 3,000.00 per additional delegate since this will incur additional expenses for the National Preparatory Committee.

    4. Payments are advised to be bank-transacted. The Federation’s Savings Account number is 0153 – 2488 – 34 name with the National Federation of Student Councils. Please address all checks payable to the National Federation of Student Councils.
    5. Your Registration fee will cover your food and accommodation for the five-day affair, congress kits, city tour and souvenirs.
    6. We are strictly imposing the deadline of confirmation and 50% partial payment on October 30, 2000 [Monday].
    7. Please confirm your attendance to the National Preparatory Committee as soon as possible through the numbers written above.
    8. You are also required to bring/submit the following:

    1. A short background of your school, pictures for exhibit, a copy of your campus publication, student handbook and student council Constitution.
    2. Please prepare a resolution for possible adoption of the Federation during the plenary.
    3. Student Council profile *
    4. Resolution/renewal of membership for those who wish to renew or be a member of the Federation.

Travelling Arrangements:

    1. All travelling arrangements are advised to confirm to the National Secretariat on or before November 6, 2000 so that we may know when and where to expect you. The Secretariat can be requested to process travelling arrangements for your attendance
    2. To get to the Congress site:
    3. For Luzon delegates:

      From Manila you can travel via bus trip directly to the venue. At present, the Preparatory committee is finalizing arrangements with the BLTB Bus Company to any discounts on bus fares.

      For Visayas and Mindanao delegates:

      You may travel to Manila by air or by boat through direct flight/board from other areas where ports are accessible.

       

    4. The Preparatory Committee will fetch all NFSC delegates at the BLTB Bus Station, Edsa, Pasay City on November 21, 2000 at exactly 6:00 am.
    5. For those who will not travel with the NFSC delegation, you will be responsible for your own travelling arrangement. Please notify the National Secretariat of your travelling arrangement so that we may know the date and time of your arrival.
    6. All delegates are expected to arrive on November 21, 2000 for the formal opening ceremonies.
