Alter Bridge - House Of Blues 9/04

By Don Berlau Jr.
We arrived at House of Blues around 7:45. (I missed the exit and ended up going to Epcot, don't ask me how we got there) A band from Atlanta called Phamily opened the show. Not a band band, but a bit to hip-hop for my taste. Submersed then took the stage for a 45 minute set. Very tight sounding band that Tremonti is heavily working with. You can here the influence in the music. They have a cd coming out on the 28th. Alter Bridge then took the stage and did a set for a bit over an hour. The songs have a creed sound, but yet without all the "preachiness" and christ like images. The crowd really responded to songs "Down to my Last" and "Shed my Skin". Even the acoustic song they played had the crowd energized. As a band, they are very tight and polished, with an awesome stage presence. Kennedys voice sounded awesome, and he never strained once to hit the notes. Unlike a Creed show, this one seemed to be more free flowing and less rehersed. Like they were having fun. They ended the night with "Open Your Eyes" and I left wanting to hear more. I definately recomend going to see them when they come near you.
