Criminal Minds Reader's and Writer's Resource

Sometimes crimes are solved using only the bare bones of evidence.

Welcome to Criminal Minds

Reader's & Writer's Resource

"I and the public know
What all schoolchildren learn,
Those to whom evil is done
Do evil in return."
~ W.H. Auden

Criminal Minds was established as a resource and outlet for all those interested in true crime, mystery, and suspense stories -- in fiction or in the news. Forensics, police procedures, criminal profiling, abnormal psychology, the judicial and penal systems, the death penalty, youth violence, serial killers, gangs, cults, militia groups, crime technology are only a few of the topics covered in this group. Essentially anything historical, current, or interesting related to crime is open for discussion. More topics are listed at the bottom of this page.

Articles, newsletters, history, writing and research links can be found here and at our Yahoo! forum as well as at our mirror site at Smart Groups. Sign-up boxes are below for both groups.

The emphasis of this group is on reading, writing, and the research that accompanies those obsessions. If you can write an article or book about it, it belongs in Criminal Minds. Tips, news, and reviews for writers -- share your publication or web page news! As a resource for writing, use the search feature to browse our archives. Your membership entitles you to list your crime-related web page in the links directory. 2nd Sight Magazine.

Feedback and support are welcome. Post to the group or email the Moderator off-list.

"...give the experts a little time...Given another new quantifiable disorder or two, everybody in the country will be officially nuts." ~ Jim Windolf, editor for the New York Observer

Caveat: Murder, mayhem, and molesting aren't pretty. This is not a forum for the faint hearted or squeamish. The posts are not previewed, and the moderator does not censor posts. (Well, almost never.) Please do not use this group for personal attacks against other members, however. It's not nice.

Is Your Interest in Crime Healthy?

Are true crime and crime fiction novels your favorite bedtime stories? Are your viewing habits contributing to the growth of crime and forensics dramas and educational programming that is taking over the television airwaves? Have you taped all the Autopsy specials on cable? Are you a frequent visitor to Rotten.com? Are your friends and family worried about your preoccupation with serial killers? Please read Is Your Interest in Crime Healthy? for some of the Editor's thoughts on this subject.

If you don't want a lot of e-mail, you can select the digest form or no mail/web-only view of postings. You may prefer to view messages here at the group home. Bookmark the home page of the group joined.
