To those observing on Earth the Moon rose as it had for countless millennia--cold, white and enigmatic--as it probably would for millennia to come; a source of mystery and speculation since man first looked heavenward and dreamed of life beyond his terrestrial home. But this night something was different: a lone space-suited figure sat huddled on the floor of the giant crater called Copernicus and stared back in fascination at the softly gleaming earth.
