Peace is a sneaky creature.
She hides in the tupperware cabinet
and when you’re least expecting it
there she is
smiling and waving like you knew she was there all along.
She likes trees
especially in summer, when they’re leafy
She can stay there all day, and no one will see her
except maybe that brown dog
snoozing in the shade.
She always tries to tame the ocean
but the water keeps moving, rolling, crashing-
even on Sunday mornings.
