PEACHES
WAVELENGTH #22
July 9 - 10PM

Wavelength has the happy/sad opportunity to throw a farewell bash for Toronto's favourite "beatbox bitch," Peaches, on the ninth of July. Questions were panted out by A Dog Named Clifford....

So we heard you were moving the shop. What's Berlin got that Toronto don't got?
There are loads of Germans who can't fully understand everything I'm rapping about so I can shamelessly practise my freestyle.

What's your take on the music "community" in Toronto anyway? And if you could give anything to the Toronto music "community" what would it be?
I am one of those rare people who actually love the T.O. scene. T.O. is not lacking in innovation or creativity. If I could I would bring more money and people to this scene so that it could survive.

Who's turning you on these days, musically or otherwise? Last thing you threw on your stereo? Taylor Savvy's Starring in Suits, World Provider. I'm at the point where I just tradetracks with friends. I am inspired by anyone busting out.

What would be the all-time dream show for Peaches?
It happened last night at Vaseline, the rock'n'roll queer bar. The theme was "shame" in honour of Pride Week. While I was performing people would come up on stage and do different "shame" performances. Shary Boyle (my art ho) came up in her underwear stained with period blood and pissed all over the stage. Two guys came up, whipped out their cocks and together they fucked a watermelon - believe me there was more!!!

We'd like to know your fave Toronto show to date please and why?
Hey I think I answered that.

OK. So do you do any mean impressions?
Gilda Radner. In junior high school i was obsessssssssed with her.

Thanks, Mss.
