-Mike: No, Off Yourself is not breaking up. We’re going to be taking a break for a little bit and then get right back in the action so to all you busta's out there break yo self fool.
-WCWZ: What other bands have you guys been in and what other bands are you guys in now?
-Mike: Well TJ and I were both in Orange Crotch and when that nose dived I moved on into xStreetCleanerx, that’s right, straight edge hardcore. After that I was in APB for a while then after futile attempts of other bands Off Yourself was created reuniting TJ and I again musically. As for Pat, all I can recall was Racecar and Uptown, then he ended up joining the ranks with the likes of Off Yourself when are drummer quit. TJ and I are still only in Off Yourself but Pat has joined up with Sig Transit Gloria.
-WCWZ: What was the reason behind your departure from Orange Crotch? Why did Orange Crotch eventually break up?
-Mike: Well this is a subject highly scrutinized so we'll take this lightly. First, I never left OC it just fell down. Second, we made a mistake (at least in my eyes) by kicking out our singer and still going under the same name with a new one. Eventually it went to the shitter and the over all consensus is that it was all Ravi's fault.
-WCWZ: Do any of you guys skateboard still? Do you think skating is as big as it was a couple years ago?
-Mike: Well I skateboard still and plan to for a while. TJ has kinda departed from the leisure time activity but is still known to come out of hibernation and kick some shit. Unfortunately skateboarding has gotten bigger these last couple years. I like all the improvements, like public parks and stuff but I hate all the rats that came with its commercial success. So to say the least, I would like it better if it were more underground.
-WCWZ: What do you guys do when you’re not playing in Off Yourself? Tell the readers where you guys work so they can stalk you if they want.
-Mike: Well, TJ works at Target by day and goes to cosmetology school by night so he's pretty busy otherwise, sorry ladies! Pat works at some printing joint and goes to COD. For me, I’m currently unemployed so I pretty much just work on music and take care of the Hanger. By the way I’m available so all you fine honey's out there are welcome to stalk me if you want.
-WCWZ: I was so surprised to hear Off Yourself played on Q101. How did the band get on the station and have they played any of your stuff since then?
-Mike: They had this contest or something for a local CD and we sent in our CD for shits and giggles and James Vanhossle liked one of the songs I guess and he ended up playing the song “Exit”. Well I’m not sure if they played it again or anything else because I don’t listen to the radio to often. I'd like to think they did but once is cool.
-WCWZ: What was your favorite place to play back when you were in Orange Crotch and what is your favorite place to play now with Off Yourself?
-Mike: Whoa, were going into ancient times here, I'll see if I can remember......ok in OC it probably would have to be Little Europe or the YMCA. Now in Off Yourself it would have to be in the Hanger, home turf is usually the best.
-WCWZ: What releases do you have out? Can we expect any releases in the future?
-Mike: We currently have a CD out right now called Age 5 and it has 14 asskickin’ songs on it plus a bonus track. Right now were recording a new CD with a shit load of new stuff that will be out at least by March. If any of you out there in punk rawk land would like to purchase our CD write to 292 E. Elm St. Villa Park, IL 60181, offyourself@hotmail.com, or call (630)530-5603. You ladies can call me also, yeah.
