We are doing a split 7" with The Geezers soon and we will be sneaking up on you at a crumby emo show. Beware: we mean buisness. There are other bands trying to ride on our coat-tails and are playing under such stupid names as Cocksnot DMC and Cocksnot OMFUG. Don't be fooled!!! We are the real thing. Call us at 773.478.5641, or stop by at 4125 N. Central Park Ave APT #3 (top buzzer)Chicago. Keepin the scene alive! (CoksnotOK@aol.com)

Dutch Oven-We are currently working on writing new songs. We have a good 12 already and many many more to come. Unfortunately, I think we're focusing more on the music and not playing shows for the next few months until our new CD is released. We have set recording dates with Matt Allison at Atlas Studios for June 11,12,14, and 15. So we expect the new release to be out by early July. It will be breathtaking, I guarantee. Frontside-We were on a brief hiatus, due to our guitarist coming down with a bad case of the pneumonias. But now after a month we are back on the rock track. We have show on the 15th of December in Darien at the Sportplex and on the 18th at the Fireside Bowl. For info on these show you can email me at XtoothsawX@juno.com or email Aaron about the Darien show at dontworryaboutit@pathwaytodarkness.com. We finally have our long-over due 2nd CD out which has alot of the songs that we play now. It's completely DIY. We burned the CDs, stencilled the graphics, xeroxed the inserts, made the covers, everything. And it's only 3 dollars! Whoa is what your saying...and I agree.....that's alot of rock for 3 bones...11 songs....that is a bargain for me. Also be on the lookout for the much anticipated Sinister Label comp, "Rise From The Ashes, Chicago". We're on it as well as other Chicago bands. (xtoothsawx@juno.com)

John Brown Battery-JBB has just recorded for a seven inch record and a compilation. The seven inch will be out at the end of the summer on of label called "The World Won't Listen", which used to be called Technitions of the Sacred. There will be an unreleased song on the Sinister Label double seven inch/CD compilation, which is called "Chicago Rises from the Ashes". There will be a bunch of awesome Chicago bands on it with unreleased material. We leave for tour on June 9th. When we get back we are recording for a split seven inch (maybe it will just be us, nothing about the other band is confirmed) with New Jerseys Up Up Down Down on "Kill You For a Dollar Productions" which is run out of Grand Rapids Michigan. Then we are going to write a full length which is too far ahead to think about. If you have a friends band from out of town that needs a place to crash because your parents aren't punk rock, as long as were not on the road, we should be able to help out. We like to play alot. We like to meet nice people. We have a full length that is available from "He Who Corrupts". Next year, the neverending tour "WheelzofSteel 2001". Check out www.johnbrownbattey.com. Logans Loss-After embarking on a 2 and 1/2 week tour with Sparechange00 (Cargo Records) throughout the East and Midwest, Logan's Loss is back home and resting up. Logan's Loss was touring in support of their sophomore full length album, "Filling the Frame." They are now anxiously making plans for an early spring release for the Sinister Label. The new release will be an EP's worth of brand new material that will showcase the most solidified and strongest songs Logan's Loss has penned to date. They will be holed up in their reclusive suburban practice studio most of the Fall jamming out the new tunes to perfection before they put them to tape with Mark of Division at his home studio in Naperville. Look for various Chicago and midwest shows in late Fall and Winter before the big pre-spring EP release show somewhere in the Chicago area. Anyone interested in picking up Logan's Loss' latest album, "Filling the Frame" can mailorder it off their website or at finer Chicagoland indie record stores. (JanglyKid@aol.com)

Mary Tyler Morphine-Mary Tyler Morphine is finishing up their full length CD to be released in February. They will be playing two shows with The Blue Meanies in Charleston, IL and Carbondale, IL at the end of this month. They're hitting the road in November with Evil Beaver, heading for the East Coast. The Moment-We will be recording the weekend of October 5 and the weekend of October 12 for an upcoming debut EP. Expect a December release date on the lovely Arms Reach Recordings. (nate@soundofthemoment.com)

The Mushuganas-Contrary to what the feeb from "AmericanHeritage" states, we're not a friggin hair band. We're still louder, looser and livelier than most bands you've ever seen, with over seven years under the strap. Expect a new album and single by early September. For historians, it was the last LP recorded at Chuck Uchida's historic Attica studio where all of your fave Chicago punk bands form the '90s got their 7" starts. Check out www.mushuganas.com. (Jmushugana@cs.com)

The Nineteen of Salem-We enjoy playing brutal and grindy hardcore/metal. Our 7" on Gaijin Recordings is finally out. It has 2 songs on it. You can listen to them at http://www.mp3.com/the_nineteen_of_sale/ and look forward to a couple songs on some compilations including one being put out by Walk In Cold Records as well as an upcoming CD (hopefully). The November Story-Say It Again Records compilation due out in May '02. Look for upcoming shows in the area, and a show with Sean Na Na at the Fireside. (TheFloatingBoy@aol.com)

Pal-Pal is taking over Pegboy's moniker as the laziest band in America.. or maybe the busiest, as 2 of our members are active politicians and have been busy campaigning. But, we are in the studio now and should have a juicy pop-punk cornicopia coming out before this country has a new revolution. (Minx66@aol.com)

Pinheads-Pinheads have a new frontman, Jo Jo Pinhead, and continue to smoke copious amounts of marijuana while raging against the faceless techno-corporate-hat machine we call government. Smash the machine, any machine, smash smash smash! http://spliffrecords.com/pinheads/index.html. (richardbastard@hotmail.com)

Plague of Yeti-The only news we really have is that we're playing our last show on Tuesday, Sept. 5th at the Fireside w/ the Thrones and Lozenge...The guitar player, Pat, and I will be in future projects together.(plagueofyeti@hotmail.com)

The Poonanies-We're releasing a full length on Novocaine Records. It'll be available by June 2001. Check out www.poonanies.com and www.novocaine-records.com. (thepoonanies@hotmail.com)

Resination-Chicago's South side hails a two piece punk rock duo. Guitars, drums, and a whole lotta energy. Get in touch with us to get our CDs, tapes, buttons, stickers, etc. To have us play a show or to find out what we've been up to check out our site at www.geocities.com/chicagoresination. "It's Square Rootin' Time". (Weezr138@aol.com)

The Rolemodels-We're not sure if you're aware of the latest news around here, but Jaysin Novocaine, founder of Novocaine Records and bassist in both The RoleModels and Jaysin Novocaine and The Bad Examples was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. At this point, we're not sure what to be more shocked about, the news of his condition or his attitude towards it. The only thing he has been noticeably upset about is that we cancelled some of our upcoming shows and practices when we found out. He had at one point lost approx. 80% of the use of the left side of his body, but out of sheer will and against all odds has regained motor function to the point that he will be playing our re-scheduled upcoming shows with us, starting october 18th at Fireside. as of late, he has spent every spare moment away from running the label practicing his bass and working on his movement to re-gain the ability to play. To quote him: "this is punk rock, there's no room for sob stories", and "fuck it, that's life. there's no time for self pity, i've got bands to take care of." The main point of this e-mail is to see if the windy city web zine could help us get the word out about the benefit fund and shows we've set up, seeing as how his hospital bills are currently in the tens of thousands of dollars, and he's only begun treatment (spinal taps, ct & mri scans, radiation therapy, etc). Since his insurance company refuses to cover this, claiming it was a pre-existing condition, you can imagine he's in a pretty tight spot right now. Jaysin has done more for the bands on the label (and even bands that aren't) than anyone we've ever met. He has lived and breathed punk rock for close to 14 years now, always working towards what is best for the bands and the scene, regardless of his own personal loss (he slept on the office floor for over a year so he could put out more releases, and has sold his van and even his clothes to fund and promote bands). We feel it's only right that we try to match his loyalty when he needs it most. For more information on the Jaysin Novocaine Benefit Fund, including official news, updates and info on his condition: http://www.novocaine-records.com/benefit.html. (the first) JAYSIN NOVOCAINE BENEFIT SHOW: The RoleModels All Else Fails The Exiles Parr 5 Rvd. Nik A.D. and the Rebel Angels Sunday, November 11th Riley's Rockhouse (Aurora) 6pm / $5 / All Ages. (rolemodels@novocaine-records.com)

Secret Agent Bill-A very busy bunch of headbangers we is. In between bong hits and ice cold shots of Jager, we are recording 14 songs under the guidance of San Fran's friendliest engineer, Jeff Fogerty (recorded Neurosis "Souls At Zero" plus records from Tilt and Incubus, and currently a rhythm guitarist with George Clinton/P-Funk) for a full length release on some label that we haven't found yet. The underage horny women are aplenty and the cash is rolling in from our highly successful "Import An Illegal Alien, Dress Them Like Punk Rockers And Put Secret Agent Bill Masks On Their Faces" campaign, a monumental success in Argentina and Arkansas alike (sic). New song themes on the upcoming release include: Chicago's continuing gentrification and the fucked up effect it has on the average citizen, good friends who died too young, growing up, being rebellious just for the sake of being rebellious, the government's war on drugs and how pointless and ineffective it truly is (look at the US for christsake!), and people turning their back on you after youve known them a long time. Some pretty heavy topics to match the heavier new sound. Most bands soften up when they get an opportunity to make a career out of playing their music, us on the otherhand, decided to get more ruthless because the last thing this world needs is another fucking Blink 182 cutesy punk rock boy band. November 2001 will mark the 6 year anniversary of Secret Agent Bill's existence, so keep your ears peeled because we plan on throwing a motherfucker of a party! Dan Agent is setting up all ages shows on occassional Sundays at Nervous Center (Chicago's best and most underappreciated cafe), interested bands email Danagent@hotmail.com (no soft and fuzzy, cuddly stuff please). To those who claim we've sold out, good luck............... (Danagent@hotmail.com)

Sig Transit Gloria-We have finished our full-length and it is due out Feb. 2001 on Johann's Face Records. Check the website atsigtransitgloria.cjb.net for shows and stuff like that. (sigtransit@hotmail.com)

Spitalfield-New full length "Faster Crashes Harder" out on Sinister Label/Walk in Cold on Oct. 2nd, CD release show with Boy Lion, Division, and Matt Bourjaily on Sept. 14th @ The Velvet, in downtown Wheaton. Email Mark: xdcminex@hotmail.com for more info. Chicago Redline comp cd's are out, and are free, and should be at most indie stores in Chicago soon. A song off the new full length is on there somewhere. Email Craig for mail copies at sinisterec@aol.com. (xdcminex@hotmail.com)

Stillwell-After a summer tour with Tale of Genji, Stillwell is currently kicking back and smoking some of that good shit we stole from them on the road. We have a new CDEP out on Forge Again Records(www.forgeagainrecords.com), as well as a track on the ADITA 2 Mix CD compilation(also featuring Kungfu Rick, He Who Corrupts, Chauncey, In Loving Memory, etc. etc.). We're going to play some midwest weekends this fall. Maybe we'll have an LP out by the end of the year? We'll see. (JWEXLER@aol.com)

The Story So Far-The Story So Far has undergone a few changes. Denis has decided to step down and relinquish the microphone duties. It was a tough decision, but we wish our brother all the best. Never fear, our good friend Rick Paulger - formerly of King For A Day - has stepped in and will make his debut appearance at the Fireside on Friday September 21 when we rock with New End Original. The new lineup will also allow us to get out on the road alot more - see below. We've been in the studio recording a new 6 song demo that will be finished by September - a few select individuals may receive a copy at our next show. Upcoming dates : September 21 - Fireside Bowl w/ New End Original and Pezz September 22 - Minneapolis at Pretzelvania w/ Black Brick Kiss and Through It All September 29 - Flint, Mich. at Flint Local 432 for Flint Fest w/ Error Type 11, Kid Brother Collective, Few and Far Between, etc. October 16 - Phoenix, Ari. w/ Stereo Type Rider, Seven Story Mountain October 17 - Las Vegas w/ Faded Grey October 18 - Anaheim, Ca. w/ The Suicide Machines, Ensign and Big Wig October 19 - San Diego, Ca. w/ The Suicide Machines, Ensign and Big Wig October 20 - Los Angeles, Ca. w/ The Suicide Machines, Ensign and Big Wig October 21 - San Francisco, Ca. w/ The Suicide Machines, Ensign and Big Wig October 26 - Halloween Party -Enchanted Castle (Chicago Suburbs) - w/ Boy Lion. We were recently signed to Pacifists Records and are releasing an EP which hopefully should be out by late July. After that we plan on fucking up the entire left side of the United States with Frontside for a few weeks and then coming home and showering and then playing more shows and writing more songs for a split CD with Frontside on Sinister. Check out our website at http://tomsawyermusic.cjb.net. We have a 3 song demo CD you can purchace for 2 dollars if you e-mail us. Have a nice day. (tomsawyerrock@yahoo.com)

TwinHATERS-New band featuring Fred and Ursula from Mary Tyler Morphine. Punk/metal sound similar to MTM but way more rockin like Dokken. Fred sings. Ursula plays guitar, Jared from RocksPennyCar plays bass, and Miguel from American Heritage drums. TwinHATERS have played a handfull of shows so far, and have hit the road once already. Plans for more road trips this Spring & Summer, as well as recording a full length record for chicago's Government Music which will hopefully come out this summer. They have recorded a 4 song demo and a few of these tracks can be heard at mp3.com under twinHATERS. Look for us playing many Chicago area shows to help spread our drunken mess. (american.heritage@worldnet.att.net)

Urethra Franklin and the Ghetto Children-Poison Idea and The Cramps fucked and had a kid. The kid was adopted by Spazz. If you can't figure out what we sound like from that, come on out and see for yourself. Brand new 19 or 20 song CD entitled "Fast Cars, Nudie Bars and Facial Scars" out soon!! Balls out Chicago PUNK ROCK! (chiefbootknocka8@cs.com)

Volta Do Mar-Volta Do Mar is Portuguse for turn of the sea. Navigational currents, great flows of meteorology, through this interconnecting world that's falling off its axis as we speak. Urine drinking anthems, Tennessee valley authority orations. Our instrumentation is sound. Six string bass, five string bass, guitar, drums, laying out the musical blitzkrieg. Inductees into the blue collar musician guild, flint michigan connections of being born to the sound of grating industry and auto plant closures. Making our "math rock" peers look like they're doing first grade addition while we lay down the law with beautiful flows of calculus, and feeling most important. The world slow in its rotation and understanding as we lay this city out in humble subversions and open eared overthrow. We have CD's. Buenos noches, Phil 773-395-0092. (voltadomar@hotmail.com)

The X-Terminatorsa-Still fairly new formed punk rock band (with members from Cancer Merchants and The English Softhearts). Killing Zombies is our full time job. We have a demo tape "Fast, Drunk, and Sloppy" the title says it all. Check out http://thexterminators.tripod.com. (Weezr138@aol.com)

(dirtE666@aol.com)
