The epidemic of Foot-and-mouth disease in livestock in England and Europe in 2001, is discussed on this page, and how it relates to the prophecies of the Bible's Book of Revelation. The Book of Revelation describes a series of catastrophic events that will occur during a seven year time period in the future. Some people believe the events of Revelation are occurring now, possibly beginning with the new millennium in year 2001. These events include disease epidemics, wars, economic chaos, earthquakes, weather changes and storms, and the rise of a dictator who is called the beast or the Antichrist, who I think is Russian President Putin, who became President of Russia in year 2000.
On this page we will consider the Foot-and-mouth disease epidemic in England in cattle, sheep, pigs, and other livestock in England, that began early in 2001. This viral disease can only effect certain livestock and some other animals, but not people, and it is easily spread through the air and by contact. It is mainly an economic issue, since it destroys the economic value of the livestock it infects, and there was a danger of it wiping out England's livestock raising industry. To stop it, England had been destroying sheep, cattle, and pigs for a distance around infected animals. That method was chosen instead of an animal vaccination program. but huge numbers of animals had to be be killed and their bodies disposed of, and there was the sight on TV of huge numbers of sheep being burnt and buried in pits. Revelation 5 (King James Version):
"1: And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
2: And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
3: And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
4: And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
5: And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
6: And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
7: And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
8: And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
9: And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain,
and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;"
In this description the lamb that has been slain is Christ. Also note that Foot-and-Mouth disease in England peaked during Easter week in April 8-15, 2001, and also note that Good Friday was on April 13, 2001, which was on Friday the 13th, Good Friday being the day that Christ was crucified, which would be the slaying of the lamb. The seven seals that are opened by the lamb bring a series of disasters descibed in Revelation. So this could mean that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will now be unleashed on the world: the Antichrist, war, economic disaster, and disease epidemics bringing death (Coronavirus COVID-19). So this is a very ominous omen for the world. Also ominous was that in early April 2001, just before the start of Easter week, a rocky formation in England called the "Devil's Chimney", on the South coast near Eastbourne, fell into the ocean. This 200 foot high rocky landmark was a favourite spot for English occultist Aleister Crowley, (who called himself "The Beast"), who had climbed it and had said that when it collapses, then disaster will hit that area of England. The "devil's chimney" idea symbolizes the burning sheep and other livestock because of Foot-and-mouth disease.
The seven seals that are opened by the slaying of the lamb, that may now be opened:
Revelation 6:1: First seal, the first of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the Antichrist goes out to conquer (I think the Antichrist is former Russian President Putin).
6:3 Second seal, a red horse, war.
6:5: Third seal, a black horse, the horseman carrying scales, this would be economic disaster.
6:7: Fourth seal, a pale hose, death by disease, and Hell rides with him.
6:9: Fifth seal, the souls of the martyred dead are seen.
6:12: Sixth seal, great earthquakes, and comets hitting earth, the sun and moon are darkened by the resulting dust in the atmosphere..
" And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places."
8: Seventh seal, asteroids or comets strike earth.
So, this could mean that these disastrous events described in Revelation 6 and 8 will occur soon, with the opening of the seven seals, after the slaying of the lambs in April 2001. Also, in late May 2001 there was a cruel and unusual event at a wildlife sanctuary in England at Marsden Rock in South Shields, Tyneside, England. 73 seabirds were shot by some insane individual who then arranged the seabird bodies to spell in large capital letters the word "Death" at the base of the cliff. Note that there are 132 steps up the cliff (note Revelation 13:2 is about the rise of the rise of the Antichrist). And note the name "Marsden Rock", the planet Mars, associated with war, was at its brightest on June 15, 2001. Could this mean the second horseman, war, and the fourth horseman, death, will ride soon? Note that the Third Horseman Economic Chaos was riding in October 2008 with the Stock Market Crash and world economic chaos.
Well, the second horseman War started riding with War against Terrorism following the Sept. 11, 2001, attack by terrorists against the U.S., including targeting the World Trade Center in New York City. And continues with ISIS now. And the Antichrist has risen to power in Russia as Russian President Putin.
