Once in the forest there was a straight tree and a crooked tree. All day long the straight tree would mock the crooked tree. "Look at you, your crooked. Your trunk is crooked, your branches are crooked. It even looks like your leaves are crooked too. I bet your even crooked underground as well. But look at me, I'm straight. There's not a hint of anything wrong with me in the least. I'm perfect in almost every way, unlike you."
This kept up for many years. The straight tree would pester and brag, and the crooked tree would stand in silence. Then one day the lumberjacks came to the forest. The foreman looked around and said, "Alright, let's cut all the straight trees."
And that crooked tree is still there to this day, growing stronger, and stranger, and more crooked every day.
