This band is composed of five women, all of which have very diverse backgrounds and a love for music.

Their music is almost all spiritually geared toward the Goddess through their inventive vocal arrangements and amazing harmonies. They use a variety of instruments such as: the Native American drum, claves and rattles, electric piano, and acoustic guitar.

This band was created to make a collection of songs for the participants of the Ecstatic Woman Gathering 1991 in Santa Barbara, California, which was entitled She Changes.

Lorin Grean explains it the best on how they started "The idea was to make an instructional tape that the people who came to the workshop could go home with. Often you learn a lot of songs and by the next day you've forgotten them. Our thought was, let's give them something they could go home with. From there we worked on arrangements to make it more than just an instructional tape - give it our flavor and show people what you can do with these chants."

During the recording and practicing of the She Changes album, they did a great deal of rituals in a circle and cleared their minds before they began the work on the album. A lot of smudging and even setting up an altar happened as well throughout the recording of She Changes. The She Changes album took only around six weeks while the She Dreams album took over a year and a half. This is mostly due to the fact that a lot of the songs are orginial rather than ones you would hear at an event.

The thing I love about this band is that you really can experience actual Wiccan chants without actually being at a ritual, maybe this is why a lot of their songs are sampled on websites.

There is very little information about this band online, they don't even have a offical website, proably due to the fact that their albums were released before the World Wide Web took off.

For first time listeners I would recommend the song, We All Come From the Goddess. This band deserves a 5 out of 5.

Blessed Be,
