© Sara McCormick and Taliana WolfSpirit ![]() KEYNOTE: Mystery, Magic, and Independence CYCLE OF POWER: Night-time Cats always land on their feet. Cats have nine lives. Curiosity killed the cat. You get the point. Cats are surrounded my myth and lore. In Egypt, they were worshiped, and the Goddess Bast was often shown as a cat or had a cat's head. The Cat was associated with the Goddess of fertility, Freyja in Scandinavian lore. In the Hindu tradition Shasthi, the goddess of childbirth, is depicted riding upon a Cat. Cats are known for many traits, independence, cleverness, unpredictability, balance and healing are a few. Cats have become to represent magic and mystery because they can see so much better than Humans in the dark. - Sara Cats have always been seen as creatures of the night - whether it's your pet cat, or a wild cat, cats have an unmistakable connection to night, the moon, the Goddess, and the "Female Mysteries". If the cat prowls into your life, maybe you're being told to be stealthy, blending into your surroundings. Or perhaps cat is telling you to use those eyes to see what is being veiled in Darkness, or the Unknown. Cats always land on your feet - is cat telling you to not let a situation or a challenge get the better of you? Or maye cat is telling you to use your instincts, your natural abilities and talents, to catch your prey (or achieve your dreams). Go sit outside one night, bask in the light of the moon, close your eyes and sit in the dark, listening to your surroundings. Can you feel your surroundings? See if you can. Spend more time with the Goddess, and if you have a pet cat, watch how it acts when it's outside ... cats have many valuable lessons they can teach us. - Taliana Sara McCormick and Taliana WolfSpirit ![]() ![]() Email Sara at: Sweeti2462@aol.com Email Taliana at: taliana@ihug.com.au |
