Tarot © Rose Editor's Note: I hope you like this little "Tarot Course" that Rose will be doing every issue. Each issue she'll include some general information about the Tarot, like it's history, it's uses, and things like that, as well as descriptions of the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana cards. And she'll finish off her section with an easy, simple to use and understand spread that you can use to practice with your Tarot cards! The pictures of the Tarot cards that will be featured in this section are of the Rider Waite deck. Tarot is an easily learned form of divination. It is based on choosing cards randomly from a deck of seventy-eight and laying them out in various patterns, commonly known as spreads. A card interpretation (also called a reading by many) of the cards in a spread answers questions that are asked. It is actually rather hard to say where the Tarot originated from, since there are rumors, and myths in abundance. Even though it is unknown where the birthplace of the Tarot is, it became popular in Italy in the fifteenth century and then spread into France. In the nineteenth century, many mediums and occultists used the cards, and then finally, it was established as expectable and somewhat normal world wide in the twentieth century.
