While I was browsing for more "Website Goodies" the other day, I came across this exceptional little Meta Tag Generator, Java Script, that finally, took all the guess work and mystery out of writing them for me.
I want to thank the script's author, Daniel Toljaga for writing such a great code, but also, for sharing it so freely with others too.
Just follow the easy steps below on how to fill out the generator's questions, to extract the most effective meta tags possible for your website.

~How To Answer The Questions, And... What They Mean.~
    1. Title: This is pretty self-explanatory. Type in the name of your website.

    2. The Author META tag: defines the name of the author of the document being read.
If that is you, then type in your name.

    3. Subject: Type in what the subject matter or content of your website is.

    4. Description: Again, just type in a description of your website.

    5. The expires META tag: defines the expiration date and time of the document being indexed and requires RFC1123 date format, for example: Thu, 04 Oct 2010 14:21:20 GMT
You can just copy and paste this if you would like.

    6. Keywords: This is where you get to list all the words you can think of, each separated by a comma, that someone might type into a search engine looking for your particular kind of website. Get specific, and try to list a good overall idea of what your website offers.

    7. Generator: Well I wasn't too sure of this myself, So... since I am using the "Advanced META Tag Generator", That's what I typed in :o)

    8. Language: I typed in English.

    9. The abstract META tag: is a one line sentence which gives an overview of your entire webpage.

    10. Copyright: no need to add the ©, it will be added automatically. Just type in the year(s)

    11. Designer: This is the Webmaster. If that is you, then type in your name.

    12. Publisher: Company or person that publishes material being read or sold on a web site. Again, if this is you, then type in your name.

    13. The Revisit META tag, defines how often a search engine or spider should come to your website for re-indexing. For example: 2 Days, 3 Days, 4 Days, etc. Note: Just ad number(s), the word Days will be added automatically

    14. Distribution:
Global (indicates that your webpage is intended for mass distribution to everyone),
Local (intended for local distribution of your document), and
IU - Internal Use (not intended for public distribution).

    15. Robot: This is the type of search engines you want to reach. I chose ALL.
Once you have answered all the questions, click on the "Make Meta Tags" Button, and your HTML code will appear in the text box below them.
Follow the directions for placement at the beginning and the middle of the code generated, then copy and paste them into the appropriate areas of your HTML document.
