BROCAS HELM "Defender Of The Crown" CD self-financed
Their second album "Black Death" was released in 1988, and this new one in 2004... Can you imagine the long wait? But BROCAS HELM has never surrendered, delivering two demos and two 7'' (plus the re-release of "Black Death") between 1990 and 2001, showing they were not dead. 1988 or 2004, one thing has not changed : the musical world is ruled by deaf big labels, as the band has to finance this album. Most of the songs were written in the nineties, but they appear for the first time on an official disc. Fifteen gems... Epic powerful tunes with a magic touch ("Cry Of The Banshee", "Ghost Story", "Time Of The Dark"), great battle anthems ("Defender Of The Crown", "Helm's Deep", "War Toons"), devastating spells ("Skullfucker", "Blood Machine", "Juggernaut"), more traditional stuff ("Drink And Drive", "Never Kissed Goodbye"), an instrumental of madness at full speed ("Persian Gulf"), and the disc ends with two brillant pieces of epic art ("Children Of The Nova Dawn", "Drink The Blood Of The Priest"). As always with BROCAS HELM, first class musicianship. And an absolute jewel of epic metal! Buy or die!

BROCAS HELM "Black Death In Athens" LP Eat Metal
This is a kind of official bootleg of the BROCAS HELM's concert in Athens (November 2001, the 25th). Well, I have a big disappointment : except for the medieval ballad "The Chemist", there is no songs from the "Black Death" album (the BROCAS HELM masterpiece !) on this live lp ! Really strange...
But... If you worship the "Into Battle" lp, it is heaven for you as they played seven songs from this one : "Into Battle", "Metallic Fury", "Here To Rock", "Warriors Of The Dark", "Ravenwreck", "Into The Ithilstone" and "Dark Rider". Also to be found on this lp : live versions of "Blood Machine" (from the 2001 7''), "Ghost Story" (from the 1994 demo / 1997 7''), "Drink And Drive" (from the 1990 demo), "Drink The Blood Of The Priest". This live recording gives the feeling that a special night of magic metal happened in November 2001. Epic metal at its best played in front of an enthusiastic audience full of greek warriors ! In spite of the lack of songs from the "Black Death" classic, this live album is essential (get it fast before it's too late) and is needed in each records collection of all epic metal lovers !
