LEATHERWOLF "World Asylum" CD Massacre
LEATHERWOLF was a solid heavy rock band responsible of "Leatherwolf" in '84,
"Leatherwolf" in '87 (yes, two self-titled albums) and "Street Ready" in
'89. In '99, they reformed for live appearances with the original line-up
and released a live cd. The last news were that they were working on a new
album with changes in the line-up. Then it was silence. And finally it is
released. The formers members are Geoff Gayer (guitar) and Dean Roberts (drums).
New members are guitarist Eric Halpern (Helstar, Destiny's End), bassist
Pete Perez (Riot) and vocalist Wade Black (Crimson Glory, Seven Witches).
The band has kept their trademarks : catchy chorus, amazing guitarworks,
effective rhythmic sections, but their music is heavier and darker than in
the past. The heavy wolf is alive, and this comeback album is not a disappointment.
The production is modern, but that's real heavy rock without annoying trendy
shit. A very good album to say the least. The last news are Pete Perez was
replaced by Pat Guyton (Shotgun Messiah) and Wade Black left the band. LEATHERWOLF
is currently looking for a new vocalist.
