LUST "We'll Never Die" LP Cult Metal Classics
Being french and being not able to find the original lp, it is good news
for me to see the greek label CMC re-releasing it on vinyl with two bonustracks.
The music of LUST is influenced by old MANOWAR and old IRON MAIDEN, but has
remained interesting as the band really had their own identity. Opener "Smoke
On The Hills" is a pure heavy metal anthem, totally killer ! "The Hold" is
powerful and melodic. "Waiting For Death" is a great epic tune. "Deep In The
Dark" is a heavy song with a catchy chorus. "The Ultimate Fight" is epic and
majestic, a wonderful piece. "I Am The Death" is a deadly anthem with no
mercy. "Too Young To Know" is another great epic tune, which is emotional.
"Hatred" is the spoken intro for the next song, "We'll Never Die", a powerful
song which is majestic too. The two bonustracks are "Silver Wings", an instrumental
taking you in a ride, and "The End", which was the last song written by the
band and the best way to say goodbye as this piece contains all the LUST trademarks
(powerful, epic, melodic...). In 1988, an underground band called LUST released
a masterpiece of powerful and epic metal. In 2003, it's really time to (re)discover
it !
