NECRONOMICON "Escalation" CD Battle Cry
This is a re-release (the label also re-released "Necronomicon" and
"Apocalyptic Nightmare"). The back cover has a mistake as it is the songs
list from "Apocalyptic Nightmare". The booklet contains the story of the
band but no printed lyrics. I was not convinced by the first two albums,
because they sound like an average copy of Destruction. There was an evolution
with this third one. Their music became more personal with better penned
songs. The result was the offering of enjoyable tunes as "Death Toll", "Murder
Of Profit", "Black Frost", "And The Night Will Be Silent" and "Cold Ages".
This is a good mixture of speed metal and speedy heavy metal. NECRONOMICON
was more convincing with this album, and the production was also better.
Their best album is quite a solid one.
