SABATAN “Fire Angel” CD Self-financed
Formed in 95’ and after having struggled in the underground scene, this spanish
band is at last able to release its debut album. Here we deal with straightforward
and traditional heavy metal inspired mainly by Judas Priest and old Iron
Maiden. Singer Miguel Corte Real has a good vocal range, but I found his
clear vocals lack a little of power. SABATAN have capacities in the songwriting
of a metal song and know how to play real heavy metal, however there is nothing
awesome on this album. They can be heavy, effective, straight in the face,
but there is not this little plus to outstrip them from the other bands.
So for the moment they offer a nice cd full of good old heavy metal and which
is pleasant for the ears. The production is very decent for a self-release.
