SATAN JOKERS "Best Of Live" CD Brennus
Time for a wonderful travel in the past with this live album (recorded between
'82 and '85) by one of the best french metal bands. The quality sound is
not the best, but as all the songs are listenable and enjoyable, that's not
a problem. This cd breathes the fire and the passion that the four musicians
had when playing on stage. Plus there is a great musicianship : vocals, guitar,
bass and drums, all are brillantly played. And I have not a lot of words
to describe their songs, just a few : heavy of course, but also outstanding
and magic. You get material from the first album (eight tracks), the two
heaviest tracks from the second album, the six songs from the mlp (that a
major label ruled by monkeys has refused to give permission for a re-release),
one unreleased track ("Business"), instrumental solos. The disc ends with
a studio cover of "Child In Time" very well done, a version that Deep
Purple can be proud. Twenty years after, this live album has sense. The testament
of a great band which recorded great stuff.
