TWISTED TOWER DIRE "The Isle Of Hydra" DoLP Metal Supremacy
When they released their demo and their first album, they didn't catch my interest. But this second album is another story. TWISTED TOWER DIRE has entered the kingdom of epic metal. "The Isle Of Hydra" and "The Dagger's Blade" are fantastic anthems. "When The Daylight Fades" and "The Longing" are great stormriders. "Final Stand" and "Beyond The Gate" are magic epic pieces. "Ride The Night" and "Sign Of The Storm" are heavy and powerful. "Dying Breath" is an unforgettable ballad full of emotion. There is a cover of "A Dangerous Meeting", and they have given to the Mercyful Fate song a second life by transforming it (without desecrating it) in an epic metal song. This dolp is always one hour of intense listening pleasure because of the high quality and the very good musicianship. Note there are one rose vinyl and one blue vinyl. A fine day to buy vinyl...

TWISTED TOWER DIRE “The Dagger’s Blade” 7’’ Maniacal
Release two for this small american label and it’s another vinyl jewel. Side A is the brilliant hymn “The Dagger’s Blade” taken from the “Isle Of The Hydra” album. Side B is new track “False Orion”, mid tempo and very convincing, maybe a very good sign for the next TWISTED TOWER DIRE album. This 7’’ comes in green vinyl.

TWISTED TOWER DIRE “The Secret Demos” Pic 12’’ Stormbringer
The secrets are revealed on side A. The raw demo versions of “When The Daylight Fades”  and “Final Stand” which allowed TWISTED TOWER DIRE to sign a deal for their second record (and “Isle Of The Hydra” has proved the deal was deserved !). Two covers on side B, QUEENSRYCHE’s “Queen Of The Reich” and RUSH’s “The Temples Of Syrinx”. They are well played, but I was disappointed as I was waiting for old demo tracks with the female vocalist. Anyway, a good complement of the “Isle Of The Hydra” album.

TWISTED TOWER DIRE "Axes & Honor" 7'' Remedy
Well, I don't know if this 7'' will be an appetizer for the upcoming album, because I have found the song on side A (which will be also on the lp) not very convincing. "Axes & Honour" is mid-tempo with a chorus trying to be catchy, but nothing happens, just the thought that this is really an average song. The non-album track, on side B, saves this 7''. "Wings Of Darkness" is a cover of TAROT, and this song has the right power, which means that at least 50 % of this 7'' is enjoyable. I doubt that the new album will be of the same high quality than the mighty "Isle Of The Hydra".
